Sisters together
A young wife sat on a sofa on a hot humid day, drinking iced tea and visiting with her Mother.
As they talked about life, about marriage, about theresponsibilities of life and the obligations of adulthood, the mother clinked the ice cubes in her glass thoughtfully and turned a clear, sober glance upon her daughter.
" Don't forget your Sisters,' she advised, swirlingthe tea leaves to the bottom of her glass. 'They'll be more important as you get older. No matter how much you love your husband, no matter how much you love the children you may have, you are still going to need Sisters.
Remember to go places with them now and then; do things with them.''Remember that 'Sisters' means ALL the women...your girlfriends, your daughters, and all your other women relatives too.
'You'll need other women. Women always do..
'What a funny piece of advice!' the young woman thought. Haven't I just gotten married? Haven't I just joined the couple-world?
I'm now a married woman, for goodness sake! A grownup! Surely my husband and the family we may start will be all I need to make my life worthwhile!'
But she listened to her Mother. She kept contact with her Sisters and made more women friends each year. As the years tumbled by, one after another, she gradually came to understand that her Mom really knew what she was talking about.
As time and nature work their changes and their mysteries upon a woman, Sisters are the mainstays of her life.
THIS SAYS IT ALL:Time passes.Life happens.Distance separates. Children grow up. Jobs come and go.Love waxes and wanes.Men don't do what they're supposed to do.Hearts break.Parents die.Colleagues forget favors.Careers end.
BUT.........Sisters are there, no matter how much time and how many miles are between you. A girl friend is never farther away than needing her can reach..When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you have to walk it by yourself, the women in your life will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on, praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on your behalf, and waiting with open arms at thevalley's end.Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk beside you...Or come in and carry you out.Girlfriends, daughters, granddaughters, daughters-in-law, sisters, sisters-in-law, Mothers, Grandmothers, aunties, nieces, cousins, and extended family, all bless our life!
The world wouldn't be the same without women, and neither would I. When we began this adventure called womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joys or sorrows that lay ahead.
Nor did we know how much we would need each other.
Every day, we need each other still.
There are more than twenty angels in this world.Ten are peacefully sleeping on clouds. Nine areplaying. And one is reading this at this moment.

yeay go me !
I know its not Friday, but thought i'd do a round up before hitting the training, I went back - with apprehension I must admit ! - to the gym, first time since before Christmas, and I must admit I was dreading the scales, and tadahhhhhhh I have actually lost 8lbs since my last weigh in and that is over Christmas and no exercise so YEAY - GO ME !!! so came home and celebrated with ........ a doughnut lol !
Ive also start at the gym on 1st February a 30 day challenge, and the yummy mummy with no tummy challenge on my other blog, so for me there is NO ESCAPE !
But we have now turned into 2010 and am on a countdown until the moonlit marathon so onwards and upwards, the tv adverts have also started for the Race for Life so that is my next challenge to run a race , which I think I should be ok in a few months, because technically running is only walking - but a bit faster !!! try telling that to joesgirl73 who hasnt been able to run recently
will start posting more often now, and still to come I will - when I am feeling brave post a picture so that you can hopefully start seeing a before and after difference
keep safe

Festivities over - Back to the grindstone !
Well its 2010 and Happy New Year to you all x x x
Both of us have fallen off the bandwagon towards the end of the year, Joesgirl has fallen over and injured her knee, and I was ill, so couldnt exercise, and then kids were off and with all good intentions and with the best intentions in the world it is not possible to fit it all in with activities, work and visiting, but - onwards and upwards, new year new start and back to the training, I have got the kids involved (Indirectly) by walking to school each morning (as long as its not raining) which is 1 mile then Ive got to walk back which is 2 miles per day and depending on what time hubby gets home from work (although he is a postie so feel a bit lousy after he has walked 7 miles at work to make him walk to school again )we can walk home from school which in total is 4 miles per day but at least I can do my bit in the morning 2 miles plus numerous health benefits and financial benefits and environmental benefits - so triple result !!!
Until Next time I'll try and keep healthy !!!
